Agria 400

One of the things I wanted for the land is a tiller, small tractor or garden tractor. After scouring Marktplaats for a while, I found this little Agria Quickly 400 for 100 euros. I immediately snagged it up and brought it home, didn't matter that it wasn't working.

It has a 5hp Briggs and Stratton Engine, which is what sold me. The old owner said it wouldn't start. It did turn, so it wasn't frozen up solid. That was good enough news for me.

It came with a double plow (when you get to the end of your row, you turn, flip the one plow blade to the other one and can go back. This way you dont have to walk so much...goes much faster) It has a tiller attachment and a few other goodies.

The engine model is from the 70's, but this engine is still made and parts are still available. It is one of Briggs and Stratton's most successful engines.

While waiting for parts, I started giving it a new fresh paint in the wrong colors (Agria from German is lime green and orange). I dont care. I'm using left over spray paint.

The new parts came-- the condenser and magnet combo that gives the sparkplug spark and she works!

I'm now searching for a hay mower attachment for it. Agria still makes it, but I dont feel like spending 800 euros for a new attachment. Hoping to find one used under 400 euros. Over all, this is a fantastic purchase. I got a 3,000 euro tool (the body, engine, plow, tiller and cultivator parts together) for 150 bucks.

It will be going to Portugal on a future trip! For now, she is sitting in our tiny dutch yard.
